The past few weeks I have felt in kind of a rut. It seems that my days cycle through the prep for work, my eight hour workday, then home to cook and clean and do it all over again. On the weekends I seem to play catch-up, and nothing seems out of the ordinary or worth blogging about.

I’ve kept watch out the window, but even the birds are few at my feeders this winter.   The ones that do come, don’t stay long.

I am ready for this winter, and my slump, to end!

Tell me about it. I am SO ready for Spring, but I think I feel this way every winter, but the older I get the less and less I can tolerate winter. I absolutely dispise winter clothes, boots, heavy coats, ear muffs, gloves etc. I just don’t like them. To make myself feel better I wear shorts all winter in the house. Everybody thinks I’m nuts, but we heat with wood, and it stays pertty warm in the house. Sometimes we have a picnic in the winter. We roast hot dogs in the wood stove, I make potato salad and baked beans, have strawberry shortcake and when all the kids were home we used to set up the card table in the living room and eat there on paper plates.
Hang in there, I hear spring is only 5 weeks away now…:)
I haven’t had any new birds since the end of December.

I think everyone is in a slump but spring is waiting:)

Oh my yes. The Spring cannot come soon enough. I think the mild (at times) winter has kept our birds occupied elsewhere. We see them when it is snowing but otherwise not so many.
Cabin fever is upon me as well!
