Our snow has arrived.   It has been pretty watching it fall and add up slowly.

I am not a big fan of the cold,  but I love the first snows.    My mind wanders back to my childhood and the holidays,  a good feeling of warmth and closeness with family.

At this time of year,  I appreciate my automatic car starter, and our programmable thermostat which warms the house before we return home in the evening.   Flannel sheets are especially nice,  as are long nightgowns,  heavy bathrobes and warm slippers.  Add to that fuzzy sweaters,  crocheted afghans, and a warm cup of cocoa,  and I’m set for the winter.

Sounds like you are all set for the winter. We had a brief spot of sun today, and it was beautiful, but alas in the next minute it was snowing again. When I was younger I loved winter, but I’m afraid the older I get the less I appreciate it, and after a few trips to the sunny south during the coldest months, really make me want to escape if just for a couple weeks. When I worked, our hospital sent me to St. Petersburg Beach, Florida 3 years in a row to school in January, and I was hooked. I couldn’t live down there, but I sure can vacation there.

Oh no. Oh no. Oh no. Yes, I love the first snow but… can’t it hold off for a bit!

Hmmm, how many days till summer? Think it’s time for a countdown calendar. Brrrrrr! Not much warmer down here, I’m afraid. Looking at 26 degrees tonight. Should’ve moved to Costa Rica!

It looks like winter has come early your way too. We are having our 3rd snowfall since the weekend and are getting more tomorrow. Our leaves are not even collected yet. Flannel sheets are the best, next to my cuppa tea.
